International Golf Club will close during bankruptcy case

The International Golf Club & Resort in Bolton will close during its ongoing bankruptcy case, the company announced Monday.

The company filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts on May 4.

In a memo to event clients and vendors, IGC said it was actively seeking a buyer to acquire all company assets and resume club operations. The company advised clients with scheduled events to seek space elsewhere.

“This difficult decision became necessary following a lengthy review and analysis of the club’s overall financial position, revenue projections and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Craig Jalbert of Foxborough accounting firm Verdolino & Lowey, IGC’s chief restructuring officer, in a press statement.

The company is also being represented by the Boston law firm Murphy & King.
