Intel Corp., which employs about 2,000 people in Hudson, said it expects revenue of $9 billion for the third quarter, an increase over its previous projection of $8.5 billion.
The company is scheduled to report its third-quarter financial results Oct. 13. It said its gross margin percentage is expected to be in the upper half of its previous range of 53 percent. All other expectations are unchanged.
Intel's previous revenue projection predicted $8.5 billion for the third quarter, plus or minus $400 million. The new projections anticipate $9 billion in revenue, plus or minus $200 million.
Last month, the Santa Clara, Calif., company reported second quarter revenue of $8 billion, a 12 percent increase over the previous quarter, but down $1.4 billion from the second quarter of 2008.
The company reported a net loss of $398 million and an operating loss of $12 million in the second quarter.
