Acton insulin technology delivery Insulet Corp. launched its Omnipod Dash Insulin Management System in Australia on Wednesday, according to a press release.
The Omnipod technology offers people with diabetes a waterproof, wearable insulin pump, and is the first of its kind to become available in Australia.
“Omnipod DASH will offer insulin-requiring Australians the freedom, flexibility, and discretion needed to simplify their diabetes management,” said Bret Christensen, chief commercial officer of Insulet, in a statement.
Insulet’s Australian launch is part of a global expansion plan, which already has added European and Middle Eastern markets to its portfolio.
