New England Innovation Academy has launched a $10,000 annual tuition award for incoming 6th and 9th grade students from Marlborough, where NEIA is located.
The NEIA Marlborough City Scholarship is merit-based and renewable for the full duration of the students’ time at school, as long as they remain in good academic and community standing, according to an Oct. 1 press release from NEIA.

“The introduction of this annual tuition scholarship underscores a deepening of our commitment to the city, by providing a pathway for deserving local resident scholars to find their own passions and purpose at NEIA,” HEIA Head of School Durga Suresh-Menon said in the press release.
Suresh-Menon took over the NEIA leadership role in July.
The scholarship will recognize young students who exhibit academic excellence and strong character, participate in extracurricular activities, and make contributions outside the classroom.
Applicants will be asked to reflect on four areas aligning with NEIA’s mission and values: character, innovation, entrepreneurial mindset, and academic excellence.
Day tuition for 7-8th grade students is $45,500, with day tuition for 9-12th grade costing $51,000, according to the school’s website. Boarding tuition for 9-12th grade students is $73,000.
Details on how to apply for the scholarship can be found here. Applications are due by Jan. 15.
Finalists will attend an on-campus roundtable interview on March 2, with NEIA faculty and staff. Performance during the interview will be taken into consideration. Scholarship recipients will be notified by March 9.
Since its opening in 2021, NEIA as a day and boarding school has attracted 6th-12th grade students from domestic and international locations, looking to grow their experience in innovation and entrepreneurship.
