In the week ending Sept. 19, 530,000 Americans filed claims for unemployment insurance coverage, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
That’s a decrease of 21,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 551,000.The four-week moving average was 553,500, a decrease of 11,000 from the previous week.
The insured unemployment rate was 4.6 percent for the week ending Sept. 12, a decrease of 0.1 percentage point from the prior week.
