Initial Jobless Claims Up 7,000

In the week ending Aug. 2, 455,000 Americans filed for unemployment insurance coverage for the first time, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
That's an increase of 7,000 from the previous week's unrevised figure of 448,000. The 4-week moving average was 419,500, an increase of 26,750 from the previous week.
