In the week ending Jan. 10, 524,000 Americans filed unemployment claims for the first time, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
That’s an increase of 54,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 470,000. The 4-week moving average was 518,500, a decrease of 8,000 from the previous week.
