In the week ending Nov. 7, 502,000 Americans filed claims for unemployment benefits for the first time, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
That’s a decrease of 12,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 514,000.The 4-week moving average was 519,750, a decrease of 4,500 from the previous week.
The insured unemployment rate was 4.3 percent for the week ending Oct. 31, unchanged from the prior week.
