Industrial Production Fell Again In February

The country’s industrial production fell by another 1.4 percent in February, according to the Federal Reserve.

The decline marks the fourth consecutive month that industrial production has declined. Production is down 11.2 percent in the last year.

The Fed’s index for business equipment was down 1.3 percent. Auto production showed an increase of 8.5 percent, but the Fed noted that the increase followed a month of widespread plant shutdowns in January.

Overall production was down 35 percent compared to a year ago.
