Vine Street Records LLC, a new division of Millis-based Interactive Media Corp., has debuted in an effort to capture new artists and promote them through a distribution stream in the company's technology division, Kanguru Solutions.
Under Interactive Media Corp., Vine Street Records will partner with Kanguru Solutions to send out thousands of "sampler" CDs to its customers, along with their standard technology purchases. Vine Street points to an eager market of tech enthusiasts that grows every day as reason for growing this division of Interactive Media Corp.
The company intends to have tens of thousands of sampler CDs in the marketplace, creating a pull for the online and retail sales channels of music. Kanguru will also put music samples from Vine Street on the MP3 players it currently sells. Interested listeners can preview the music and artists online as well.
The label already has its first artist ready for shipment. The artist, DB, will release its first album through Vine Street called Cherry Mint. The album will ship in a two-disk set with the CD and DVD-A in a single jewel case or as a single CD.
