United Natural Foods Inc. in Dayville reported a net income of $13.6 million in the first quarter of 2008, up from $12.4 million last year. The company also recorded net sales of $736 million, an increase of 14 percent from Q1 2007. The company’s first quarter results do not include the acquisition of Millbrook Distribution Services Inc. which closed in November 2007.
