A total of 16 Central Massachusetts companies made Inc. 5000’s 2018 list of the 5,000 fastest growing companies in the country.
The Central Mass. contingent on this year’s list is led by Maynard small business insurance agency Insurancebee, which checked in at No. 898 with a 553-percent three-year growth rate and $2.5M in 2017 revenue.
Sneaking into the top 1,000 was Framingham healthcare data firm Definitive Healthcare, which grew at a 508-percent clip and reported 2017 revenues of $40.5 million.
Reporting the largest revenue was Acton semiconductor and server product distributor Phoenics Electronics reporting $134.6 million, which grew 120 percent over three years.
Framingham video game developers Disruptor Beam claimed third place on the Central Massachusetts list, taking in $29 million in 2017 for a growth rate of 309 percent.
Barely sneaking into this year’s list at all was Millbury power generator service company Weld Power Generator at No. 4,999. The company grew its revenue 57 percent over three years to report a 2017 figure of $6.6 million.
