The Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton has named Tara Reddy Young deputy director.
Young previously worked as director of education and public programs at the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester, as associate curator of education at the Tacoma Art Museum in Washington and as assistant curator of modern and contemporary art at the Seattle Art Museum.
In her new position, she will manage day-to-day operations at the icons museum, supervise museum staff and organize administrative functions. She will also work to recruit interns and volunteers, develop partnerships with scholars around the world and with schools in the local area and improve the museum's visibility.
Her appointment brings the number of full-time staff at the museum up to three.
Young has a master's degree in the history of art and architecture from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor's degree in the history of art and architecture from Harvard University.
