Fitchburg-based IC Federal Credit Union said a Connecticut credit union executive will take the reins at IC when CEO Tony Cali retires at the end of April.
Anthony Emerson has been president and CEO of The Credit Union League of Connecticut since March 2008, and previously worked as a vice president at a Maine credit union for five years.
"After an extensive national search process and many strong potential candidates, the board feels Tony has the skills and leadership capabilities to take IC Federal Credit Union to the next level of growth," IC Chairman Ken Stone said in a statement.
IC said Emerson has several degrees as well as an MBA and a doctorate in international business. He is a graduate of the Academy of Military Science. He served as a contracting officer in the U.S. Air Force.
As of December, IC had $474.9 million in assets and 21,003 members, according to public filings.
Cali announced his retirement in November. In his nearly five years at IC, he is credited with growing assets by 26 percent, achieving record earnings in 2011 and adding more than 12,000 members.
