Hudson Firm Wins Navy Contract

Hudson-based Test Devices has been awarded a research and development contract with the U.S. Navy.

The company works with developers and producers of high-speed rotational components of jet engines, gas turbines, medical centrifuges, machine tools, industrial compressors, and high-speed electric motors, among others. Under the agreement, Test Devices will work with New Jersey-based engineering firm Mechanical Solutions Inc. to advance state-of-the-art testing of its High Cycle Fatigue (HCF) methods and instrumentation. According to Test Devices, the testing capability will provide military and commercial manufacturers of original equipment with improved designs to address temperature and fatigue issues.

The award comes through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, which encourages scientific and technological research and development among small businesses for federal government work.
