Houston real estate development and management company McCord has its sights set on the MetroWest life sciences market with a recently acquired Northborough industrial building.
As was reported last week, McCord has paid nearly $3.4 million for a 64,736-square-foot industrial building in Northborough. According to a release from the company, the building will undergo extensive renovations to allow life science companies to optimize their manufacturing process and recruit and retain the best possible talent.
Formerly home to GlaxoSmithKline, 30 Bearfoot Road’s in-place infrastructure includes heavy primary and stand-by power, a sanitary system designed for lab waste, mechanical mezzanines, multiple loading docks, and 18-foot clear height, according to the release. The property may also be expanded on the nine-acre site.
McCord is a Houston- and Boston-based opportunistic real estate company. The company has acquired or developed over $3 billion in projects across the United States.
