Caliper Life Sciences Inc. of Hopkinton said third quarter revenue fell 8 percent to $29.7 million as it narrowed its loss to $1.3 million from $3.4 million a year earlier.
The company spent 3 percent less on research and development, selling and administrative costs than it did a year ago and ended the quarter with $38.7 million in cash and equivalents compared to $23.1 million last year.
For the full year, the company upped its revenue outlook from an estimated range between $117 million and $120 million to between $119 million and $121 million.
Caliper develops tools and software used by researchers in life sciences laboratories.
