A Waltham company has acquired 33 Honey Farms retail stores and gas stations in the Worcester area for $36 million.
The acquisition, announced earlier this month, includes 11 retail convenience and fuel locations and 22 stand-alone convenience stores, according to a press release from Waltham-based Global Partners, a publicly-traded fuel and convenience store company.
Nearly all of Honey Farms’ locations are in Worcester County, with some in Middlesex County and one in New Hampshire.
“This transaction aligns with our objective of acquiring sites that expand our footprint and enable us to benefit from economies of scale in the purchase of fuel and convenience store merchandise,” said Global Partners President and CEO Eric Slifka in a press release.
According to Global Partners, it has about 1,500 locations and distributes multiple brands, including Mobil, Exxon, Shell, Sunoco, Gulf, CITGO and Global, primarily in the Northeast.
