Oxford-based Hometown Bank has completed its acquisition of Athol-Clinton Cooperative Bank.
The conversion of Athol-Clinton’s two branches – in Athol and South Lancaster – into Hometown Bank branches will begin today, April 1.
The merger was approved by shareholders of both mutual banks in February and by the state Division of Banks in March.
Hometown Bank signage is expected to be installed in Athol and South Lancaster within the week.
Athol-Clinton’s two branches add to Hometown’s existing branch network that includes locations in Oxford, Sturbridge and Webster.
