The number of single-family homes sold during the month of November totaled 2,614, a 31.5-percent decrease from the number sold during the same month of 2009, according to a report this morning from the Massachusetts Association of Realtors.
While the volume of home sales fell, the median price actually climbed, increasing 5.2 percent to $299,900. This is the 13th consecutive month where the median price has increased.
Condo sales volume was also down, dropping 38.7 percent from the 2009 monthly total. But condo prices are up 10.4 percent.
The MAR also reported that the number of single-family homes listed for sale totaled 28,034, up 13 percent over the inventory in 2009. That represents a 10.7-month supply of inventory on the market.
