The College of the Holy Cross will officially mark the opening of its $95-million Luth Athletic Complex April 28.
The facility includes an indoor football field that can be used for all sports, a gym for basketball and volleyball, a 9,500-square-foot strength and conditioning center and a 3,000-square-foot space for sports medicine. It also includes locker rooms for varsity teams, offices and meeting rooms for all sports programs and an exterior plaza to host events.
The center is connected to the Hart Recreation Center at the top of a hill at the southern edge of the Worcester campus.
The Luth Athletic Complex was made possible in part by a $32.5-million grant from 1974 Holy Cross graduate John Luth and Joanne Chouinard-Luth. The gift was the largest in the college's history.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, April 28 at 1 p.m., with tours available beforehand.
