As college students get ready for the summer break, the College of the Holy Cross’ offering of classes and internships have been ranked No. 9 in the nation for its summer offerings and assistance for current students.
The ranking, gathered by the ranking service Best College Rankings placed Holy Cross in the top 10 colleges in the nation for summer opportunities for students. Far from sending students home or to summer jobs for the break, the organization found the college offers more than 100 choices in summer internships. These internships, according to the ranking service, are increasingly becoming necessary for students to increase their competitiveness.
In addition to the wide array of internships and assistance with obtaining them, the college was lauded for the funding available to students for these internships. According to the service, the standard funding is a $3,000 dollar stipend with an additional $500 for relocation. Funding is based on a 35 hour week for 10 weeks.
The only other Massachusetts schools appearing on the list were Gordon College at 12th, Emmanuel College at 22nd and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at 26th.
