The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester raised more than $58 million over the 2022 fiscal year.

Of the total, $39.3 million was donated by alumni, parents, and friends, due partly to a return to alumni events as COVID restrictions have been lifted, according to the July 14 announcement.

“Our alumni programming came back strong this year,” Tracy Barlok, former Holy Cross vice president of advancement, said in a press release. “People were thrilled to get back together, whether at special events around the country or, especially, on campus. Personally reconnecting with friends, classmates and the college itself was a huge theme, as was continued engagement through our virtual events.”

Of note, Eric Galloway, president and co-founder of the Galvan Foundation in Hudson, N.Y., gifted $2.6 million to establish the Helen M. Whall Chair in Race, Gender and Social Justice, a new endowed faculty position, and a bi-annual Shakespeare lecture series.

Fiscal 2022 marked the completion of the college’s Hope and Access campaign for financial aid, an 18-month fundraising program aimed at improving access to the college. It raised more than $56 million dollars, against its $40 million goal.
