The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester announced on Friday it has named Heather Hayes as the school’s new vice president and chief of staff.
Hayes previously served as associate dean of strategic and student affairs at Boston College Law School.
As Holy Cross chief of staff, she will play a key role in the executive team of new Holy Cross President Vincent Rougeau, including developing the strategic goals of the college. She will be the secretary of the Holy Cross board of trustees.
Her background, according to Holy Cross, has included working at large law firms both as a lawyer and in lawyer recruitment and professional development. Previous positions include being a litigation associate at Cooley Manion Jones in Boston, leading lateral recruiting efforts at Testa Hurwitz & Thibeault in Boston, and working as director of legal recruitment for WilmerHale, also of Boston.
Hayes holds a bachelor’s degree in government from Clark University in Worcester, where she graduated magna cum laude, and a law degree from Boston College.
Hayes replaces Jane Corr, who served as chief of staff since 2012, according to Corr's LinkedIn profile. Corr left the school to pursue other opportunities, according to Holy Cross.
