Cynosure, a division of Marlborough medical device maker Hologic, announced a new product Tuesday using electromagnetic fields to contract and build muscles.
The product, StimSure, is part of the Cynosure line of body sculpting technologies including skin tightening and fat destruction. The system causes muscles to contract in the same way they would during movement or exercise. The product is CE marked in Europe for muscular atrophy, but it can be used to strengthen and tighten the abdominal, gluteal and thigh muscles.
StimSure is only available in selected countries within the European and Australasia regions. It is not available in America.
