Marlborough medical device manufacturer Hologic has completed an $808-million acquisition of Finnish-French company Mobidiag Oy, the MetroWest company announced on Thursday.
Mobidiag is a privately-held, commercial-stage developer of molecular diagnostic tests and instrumentation. Hologic previously anticipated the purchase would be worth $795 million, when the impending acquisition was announced in April.
“Closing the acquisition of Mobidiag enables us to become a broader, more diversified global diagnostics leader,” said Jan Verstreken, group president, international at Hologic, in a statement.
The company did not disclose how the acquisition might affect staffing at either company.
