Marlborough medical device company Hologic has added 3D imaging to its SuperSonic MACH 40 ultrasound system.
The new, software-based application will help clinicians visualize breast anatomy and provides detailed characterization of lesions, according to a release about the new imaging capabilities. The 3D imaging will allow clinicians to look at lesions from any angle without losing resolution.
These additional details may assist clinicians in assessing difficult lesions and more accurately estimating the size of tumors, according to the company.
