Holliston medical pot operation can begin growing

A Holliston medical marijuana facility has received final approval from Massachusetts health officials to begin cultivation operations.
New York-based iAnthus Capital Holdings, which owns, operates and partners with licensed cannabis companies throughout the country, announced Tuesday that Mayflower Medicinals received state Department of Public Health approval in late December.
The company can now begin cultivation and production at its 36,000-square-foot facility in Holliston. The facility includes automated systems including lighting, fertigation and environmental controls.
“With state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation, commercial kitchen, and processing capabilities, iAnthus believes that Mayflower's Holliston facility is one of the most advanced in the United States,” iAnthus said in a statement.
Mayflower will fill its nine grow rooms with its inventory of cannabis clones to accelerate the production process, iAnthus said.
Mayfower’s first retail dispensary in the Allston-Brighton neighborhood is nearly complete and is expected to be ready for sales in the second quarter.
iAnthus also announced the acquisition of 80 percent of Pilgrim Rock Management, the management and services company to provide licensing and management services to Mayflower.
