Holliston-based LW Robbins, a direct response fundraising agency, acquired Texas-based data analytics company KerstenDirect Wednesday, the new company announced.
The combined company will be known as RobbinsKersten Direct and currently employs about 75 in Holliston and more than 25 in the Dallas area. KerstenDirect CEO Tim Kersten has been appointed CEO of the combined company, it was announced, while Lynn Edmonds – president of LW Robbins for the past 12 years – will stay with the company until the end of 2014 to assist with the transition.
The purchase price is not being disclosed, company spokeswoman Polly Papsadore said.
The two companies have been in discussions since late 2013, said RobbinsKersten Direct chairman Walter Beinecke, prompted by a desire for growth and KerstenDirect’s digital fundraising capabilities.
“This acquisition brings together two highly regarding agencies with complementary strengths,” Beinecke said in a statement. “To stay ahead, nonprofits need to integrate every channel and drive higher net revenue by leveraging both the science and the art of the fundraising discipline.”
The agency’s clients include Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the Special Olympics and Susan G. Komen.
