RYPOS Inc., a Holliston company that designs diesel particulate filters, has received approval from the California Air Resources Board for filters that retrofit old refrigerated transport trailers.
The product is aimed at trailers with engines dating from 2002 or earlier. The company said it is the cheapest way to comply with newly enforceable California emission standards.
The standards apply to about 40,000 transport refrigeration units that use California roads, including those traveling from outside the state, the company said.
