Holliston co. debuts drug transport technology

Holliston-based Cold Chain Technologies today launched a new material that keeps drugs and vaccines safe while they’re being transported.
The phase change technology, called the Koolit Advanced PCM Gel, is a solid, uniform pack that provides temperature control and protection for drugs and vaccines, according to the company. It can be used for multiple package shapes and sizes and is made from solid material with break-resistant packaging, which addresses leakage concerns. This will make operations run more smoothly for distributors, and lead to cost savings for manufacturers, according to the company.
CCT is a developer and manufacturer of solutions for the biotech, health care, pharmaceutical, clinical trial distribution and medical device industries. The technology will be demonstrated at the Cold Chain GDP & Temperature Management Logistics Global Forum this week at Boston’s Hynes Convention Center.
