Marlborough’s Forest Park development got a boost this week, with the announcement that an application has been filed with the city to build a Hilton Garden Inn hotel on the mixed-use site.
The former Hewlett-Packard complex is the site of a development whose first phase includes 200,000 square feet of lab space for Quest Diagnostics, expected to open this summer, 350 luxury rental units, and a hotel.
According to an announcement by the Marlborough Economic Development Corp. (MEDC), CSM Corp.’s plan for the hotel is pending a technical review by the city and will fulfill the development’s hospitality quotient. It will have 153 rooms, up from the 125 earlier estimated by the developer.
According to the MEDC, Minneapolis-based CSM Corp. owns and manages more than 100 properties across the country, including 38 hotels, two of which are Courtyard by Marriott in Natick and Woburn.
Tim Cummings, MEDC executive director, said the addition of the Hilton to Forest Park, along with housing and a large business, “completes the trifecta, making Forest Park a true mixed-use development.”
“We couldn’t be more pleased,” he said.
Property developer AvalonBay Communities plans to include 75,000 square feet of retail space in its final phase.
