The Petersham location of Gardner-based Heywood Healthcare’s addiction treatment facility The Quabbin Retreat has sold to development company, Waterstone Properties Group, Inc. of Needham for $3.3 million, according to the Worcester District Registry of Deeds.

It is not known whether the transaction will affect operations at the facility. Neither Heywood Healthcare nor Waterstone Properties responded to WBJ requests for comment.

Opened in 2017, the facility houses multiple programs including Heywood’s Dana Day Treatment Center and Belmont-based McLean Hospital’s Addiction Treatment Center at Naukeag.

The transaction, which closed on Friday, was between Quabbin Healthcare, Inc. of Gardner, registered to officers of Heywood Healthcare, and Waterstone Petersham Medical LLC, of Needham, registered to officers of Waterstone Properties.

Waterstone Properties is a property manager and developer with facilities throughout the country, including nearly 4 million square feet of healthcare facilities, according to its website. The company has five other properties in Massachusetts, including a 162,000-square-foot office building on Technology Drive in Westminster.

The Quabbin Retreat property was last sold in 2015 to Heywood Realty Group of Gardner by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, a Catholic group, for $680,000.

In May, Haywood Healthcare announced its intention to join the UMass Memorial Health system.
