Fitchburg-based Headwall Photonics announced it has received a contract from Naval Air Systems Command to provide sensors that will be used on unmanned aircraft.
The company will provide the so-called hyperspectral sensors to a San Diego, Calif.-based firm that builds imaging technology for aircraft and other vehicles.
Chris Van Veen, Headwall’s marketing director, would not disclose the value of the contract, but confirmed it is a follow-on to a $228,900 contract Headwall was awarded last year.
