In a modest financial turnaround Boston-based health insurer Harvard Pilgrim, with offices in Worcester reported net income of $1.6 million in the second quarter.
Year-to-date, though, the health plan Tuesday reported a net loss of $3.1 million and an operating loss of $7.4 million on revenue of $1.5 billion.
For the same period last year, it reported a loss of $34.2 million and an operating loss of $37.3 million on a $1.6 billion revenue.Â
For the second quarter, Harvard Pilgrim reported a net income of $1.6 million and an operating loss of $1.9 million on a revenue of $760.1 million. Last year, the health plan reported a net loss of $700,000 on revenue of $811.4 million.
Total membership numbers are also down: 1,247,030 in this year’s Q2 compared to last year’s 1,293,586.
