Harvard Pilgrim Health Care has added the Central Massachusetts Independent Physicians Association (CMIPA) to its Medicare Advantage physician network, an HMO known as Stride, the Wellesley health insurer said Monday.
CMIPA includes 171 physicians in Central Massachusetts, which are now affiliated with Boston-based Steward Health Care Network, the second largest provider in the state.
Harvard Pilgrim noted that CMIPA was one of 52 New England practices named to its 2016 Physician Group Honor Roll, highlighting groups that have achieved what it called “exceptional results” in disease prevention and the treatment of acute and chronic illnesses for pediatric and adult patients.
