Hartford hotels see fewer visitors

Occupancy rates for Hartford hotels fell to 56.3 percent in the first four months of this year, down from 60.1 percent from the same time in 2006, according to Smith Travel Research. While national hotel occupancy rates fell 0.7 percent to 64 percent in 2006, and the rates for New England also declined to 57.3 percent at the same time, rates for Connecticut increased from 58.7 percent to 59.5 percent. Hartford hotels experienced a 2.2 percent revenue increase for the four-month period, while the national average was four percent. Read more of this story here.
