Harrington Lands Federal Funding For Exam Tech

Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge says the federal omnibus appropriations bill will provide for a new mammography machine at the hospital.

The bill contains $285,000 for that purpose, and the state-of-the-art digital machine will be used by the hospital’s women’s center, which is due to open later this year.

The hospital is undergoing a $12.5 million renovation project.

Edward Moore, Harrington’s president and CEO, credited U.S. Sens. John Kerry and Edward Kennedy and U.S. Rep. Richard Neal with securing the funding for the new mammography machine in the more than $125 million destined for the state as part of the spending package.
