Karen Spiewak has been named director of development at Harrington HealthCare System and will oversee contact with the community as well as the organization's philanthropic efforts.
In this position, she will work to raise awareness of Harrington’s mission and build connections to support those goals, according to a release.
“I look forward to raising funds, raising awareness and recruiting new partners to help Harrington better serve the approximately 150,000 people in our 21-community service area,” Spiewak said in a statement.
Spiewak began as a consultant to the hospital in 2007 and has assisted with fundraising and securing a number of grants to purchase medical equipment and enhanced patient care services. She has been a member of the hospital’s board since 2013. She is the president and proprietor of Spiewak Consultants, which offers health and personal safety seminars.
The health care system is headquartered in Southbridge and includes Harrington Hospital.
