Harman International Industries Inc., a manufacturer of high-end audio equipment and electronic systems, is relocating its headquarters staff from D.C. to Connecticut.
The company informed its approximately 30 Washington employees that it will close its Pennsylvania Avenue office and relocate some of them to Stamford, Conn., north of New York City, where the company’s new chief executive works.
Harman spokesman Brad Hoffman says the company has some corporate staff in D.C., some in Northridge, Calif., and some in Stamford. He says Harman is trying to consolidate corporate functions at a location close to the New York financial markets.
