Worcester public company Hanover Insurance Group on Thursday appointed Sarah Medina its new president of professional liability, in an attempt to grow the company’s products in that sector.

In the role, Medina will be in charge of the books of business for The Hanover’s professional liability products for lawyers, architects and engineers. In addition, she will build on the company’s strategy for small specialty business.
Medina joined The Hanover in 2014 in the professional liability lines portfolio. Previously, she was an assistant vice president at Connecticut insurer The Hartford Financial Services Group. She started her career at Connecticut insurer The Travelers Cos.
In her new president role, she will report to Gregory Leffard, president of professional lines at The Hanover.
