Hanover named one of 'America's Best Employers'

Matt Volpini Fred Eppinger, outgoing president and CEO, Hanover Insurance Group helped to turn the company around.

The Hanover Insurance Group has been named one of "America's Best Employers" in the mid-size category for 2016 by Forbes Magazine.

This is the second consecutive year the organization has received the distinction, according to a release from Hanover Insurance. The list is made up of companies that both employees and the general public feel are good employers.

"We are proud that our employees recognize our commitment to providing an environment where they can develop and enjoy rewarding careers. Our employees are our single most important asset – and their focus, skills and passion are what drive our company's growth and success,” said Christine Bilotti-Peterson, chief human resources officer at Hanover Insurance.

The list was created based on an independent survey of U.S. companies and institutions with 1,000 or more employees. Employees surveyed were asked 35 questions and from those responses, the list of 750 mid-size and large companies was made. Hanover Insurance was ranked among the top 100 mid-sized companies.

The company, based in Worcester, has a national presence, with more than 40 offices around the country, and recruits for more than 800 job openings each year.
