The Hanover Insurance Group Inc. of Worcester has appointed former AIG CFO Steven J. Bensinger as executive vice president and senior finance officer and Tony De Padua as head of its corporate product and underwriting functions.
Bensinger will replace Eugene M. Bullis, who is retiring as CFO later this year. Bensinger has more than 30 years experience in financial services, mainly in insurance. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and CFO at American International Group Inc. Before that, he held senior leadership positions at Chartwell Re Corp., Trenwick Group Ltd. and Combined Specialty Group Inc. Before that, he was a partner with Coopers & Lybrand and president and COO of and Skandia America Corp.
De Padua has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, most recently as senior vice president of commercial segments at CNA. Before that, he worked for The St. Paul Cos., Allstate and Aetna.
In his new position, De Padua will be a member of the company's executive leadership team. He will also be responsible for the company's marine and umbrella businesses and for building new niche products for markets including the technology industry.
