GWCF awards $342K in mental health grants

The Greater Worcester Community Foundation last week announced that $342,000 has been awarded through its Fairlawn Foundation Fund to address mental health needs in the region.

Awardees are striving to have meaningful, measureable impact on the mental health of young people, in Central Massachusetts, according to a statement from the organization.

Grantees include

  • CASA Project, which will pilot a program ensuring children in the foster care system get access to needed mental health services in a timely manner;
  • Children’s Friend Inc., to address the needs of LGBTQ youth in schools and other area organizations;
  • Community Healthlink, to expand a program that integrates wellness interventions with children’s behavioral health services;
  • Genesis Club, to work with local high schools to offer mental health support services to teens;
  • HOPE Coalition, for a Worcester childhood trauma partnership that provides mental health support to children exposed to violence.
