Gulf Oil Seeks Efficiency Help For Retailers

Framingham-based Gulf Oil LP has hired a Plymouth energy services firm to help reduce natural gas and electricity costs for Gulf retailers.

Power Management Co. of Plymouth was named Gulf's preferred vendor for natural gas and electricity procurement for more than 1,400 Gulf-branded gasoline retail centers. Gulf said its retailers not only need to increase revenue, but must also find ways to cut expenses.

The deal with Power Management is expected to help Gulf retailers become more efficient in the purchase and use of utilities by helping those retailers better manage usage and purchasing.

Gulf has a total of 2,400 gasoline retail stores and also operates 12 oil terminals and 50 supply terminals. Along with gas, the company provides heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel and kerosene.

Power Management also has an office in Rochester, N.Y.
