The Grid District in Worcester has already brought hundreds of living units and a pair of new eateries to the south side of Worcester Common.
In the next six weeks, four new, long-awaited features are set to open: the Brew Beer Garden, a beer garden, WooHaHa!, a comedy club, and two restaurants. The Brew Beer Garden is expected to host a grand opening Sept. 20 and the comedy club has booked his first act on Oct. 18.
Those two new draws will join Stix Noodle Bar and Brew on the Grid, along with two other planned restaurants at the Grid District: Revolution Pie + Pint and Craft Table & Bar, which will adjoin the comedy club and each have bars serving 36 beers on draft. Revolution Pie + Pint is slated to open the same night as WooHaHa!, and Craft Table & Bar will open soon after, according to Steven Carter, the Grid District's director of operations.
WooHaHa!, which is in the basement of 50 Franklin St., already has comedy acts lined up through late December.
The Brew Beer Garden, which replaces a former cinema at 64-66 Franklin St., will have a partly-covered outdoor terrace that's slated to be open three seasons of the year, thanks to fire pits and heaters.
"Weather permitted, the show will go on," Carter said.
The brew garden, which will also have an indoor pavilion, will have 36 beers on draft, including what Carter said will be a substantial list of local breweries on tap. A menu will include hamburgers, sausages and hot dogs, and patrons will be able to walk up to a window at the adjacent Stix Noodle Bar to order from there as well. The Brew Beer Garden's kitchen will take the place of the former Techni Mediterranean Grill, with a capacity to serve food for the whole 300-seat Brew Beer Garden.
Both the beer garden and the comedy club have had their openings delayed by complications at the site. The Brew Beer Garden was initially slated to open last year but tearing down the former cinema between adjacent buildings was more complicated than initially believed, Carter said.
Stix Noodle Bar, Brew on the Grid, Beer Garden, Revolution Pie + Pint and Craft Table & Bar are all part of the Grid Hospitality Group. Revolution Pie + Pint and Brew on the Grid both have locations in Lynn, and Craft Table & Bar has a location in East Boston.
The Grid District's 533 residential units are 95 percent occupied, Carter said.
"Everything's just coming together at the Grid," he said.
