The Worcester Metropolitan Statistical Area seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate remained at 3.7% in July, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data released by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development on Tuesday.
The Leominster-Gardner metropolitan area’s unemployment rate in July also remained the same since June at 4.1%.
Between May and June the Worcester area’s unemployment rate rose two-tenths of a percentage point and the Leominster-Gardner area gained one-tenth of a percentage point. In July 2021, the Greater Worcester unemployment rate was 6.1%, while it was 6.8% in the Leominster-Gardner area.
The statewide unadjusted unemployment rate remained at 3.5% from June, which matches the national rate for July.
