Colleen Quinn, who was promoted from chief commercial officer to CEO at Worcester manufacturer Greater Good Imperial Brewing Co., officially took over her new role on Friday.
“This was a brewery that was doing something truly differentiated, and owning our position as America’s first and only all-imperial brewery continues to be both our primary focus and a big point of pride,” Quinn said in a press release on Tuesday. “As we look towards the future, we’ll turn that differentiation into more growth, aspiring to gain a 50% share of the imperial, high-ABV market.”
Quinn assumes day-to-day leadership at Greater Good from its president Paul Wengender, who founded the brewery in 2016 and will remain as its board chairman.
“Six years since our launch, we know that there is consumer demand and appreciation for the unique liquids we bring to the market, and we have also found someone who can take this discovery and catalyze the next phase of growth of the company,” Wengender said in a press release. “Colleen Quinn is absolutely the person I trust to lead Greater Good into the next stage of its journey.”
Quinn has been with Greater Good since January, leading the sales, marketing, and taproom teams. Previously, she spent five years at Oregon company Craft Brew Alliance, leading its East Coast business as general manager. After CBA was acquired by Saint Louis beer giant Anheuser Busch, Quinn joined as head of strategy for the combined 21-brewery craft business unit. Shortly after, she co-founded Second Sip Beverage Consulting.
With her now in the CEO role, Greater Good is looking to expand its entire organization.
Greater Good is the fifth largest brewery in Central Massachusetts, with 12,500 barrels brewed in 2021, according to the WBJ Research Department. The company employs 30 people.
