Grants Offered For Green Energy Workforce Development

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center is offering nearly $1 million in grants to help educate workers for the clean energy sector.

The grants of $75,000 to $200,000 will go to vocational schools, colleges and universities and nonprofit groups to support training, curriculum development and professional development. Grant applicants must work with at least two Massachusetts clean energy businesses. The projects are not required to provide matching funds, but those that do will get priority in the selection process.

The center will work with the quasi-public Commonwealth Corp., a workforce development agency affiliated with the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, to make the awards.

Applications are due to Commonwealth Corp. by July 2.
