A Worcester program for at-risk youth is among five across the state that will share a $609,952 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Commonwealth Corp. received the grant to pay for mentoring programs for youth in the custody of the Department of Youth Services. In Worcester, it will help support Straight Ahead Ministries, which helps young people as they move back into their communities.
The grant will also support programs in Boston, Brockton, Holyoke and Lawrence.
Straight Ahead Ministries is based in Worcester and has offices in five other New England cities and national affiliates across the country.
